The nomination of Julius Kitur as a member of the Eldoret City board now hangs in balance.
This is after Moi University denied issuing a degree certificate that Kitur has submitted to the Uasin Gishu County Assembly Committee on Appointment during his vetting.
Is Julius Kitur’s degree fake?
According to the copy of the said degree seen by Uasin Gishu News, it was issued in 2011.

However, a letter to the county assembly which had sought verification of the document indicate that it was not authentic.
“This is to confirm that the copy of the certificate of the above named person submitted for verification is not authentic and was not issued by Moi University,” read part of the letter signed by P.R Bartoo of behalf of the deputy vice chancellor.
The latest development puts Kitur qualification to hold the crucial position in doubt.
Before his nomination, he has been serving as the Eldoret Municipality Board Chairperson.
Kitui was nominated to sit on the city board alongside nine other individuals.
