Eldoret to Host AK/Betika National Cross Country Championships

Eldoret Sports Club will host the 2025 Athletics Kenya/Betika National Cross-Country Championships on February 8, 2025.

The event was initially scheduled to take place at the Kenya Prisons Training College on the same day.

This premier event follows the thrilling AK Cross-Country Series, which featured six intense legs in Machakos, Kapsokwony, Iten, Olkalou, Bomet, and Kisii.

It further comes hot on the heels of the Kenya Prisons, KDF, and Kenya Police Forces Cross-Country Championships, as well as the regional Championships.

How many athletes will participate in Eldoret AK Championships?

Over 500 elite and upcoming athletes are expected to battle for supremacy in an event that not only highlights Kenya’s unrivaled distance-running prowess but also serves as preparation for the busy season ahead.

The championship will feature three race categories including; 10km senior men and women, Under-20 men (8km) and women (6km) race, and the 2km loop race for both men and women.

This year will be different with races commencing in the afternoon. This schedule allows for an entertainment segment and a medical camp to be held before the main events, enhancing the experience for both athletes and spectators.
