The Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (ELDOWAS) has announced changes to its water rationing schedule.
According to the company, the new changes are aimed at ensuring each if its customers get water.
“To ensure adequate water supply for all customers, a new water supply schedule will take effect starting Wednesday, February 14, 2024,” the company announced on its social media pages.
ELDOWAS has for years been rationing water to its customers due to the deficit of the product compared to the demand. Currently, it is estimated that Eldoret needs up to 60 million cubic metres of water daily while Eldowas only produces 43 cubic metres.
The latest change of schedule affects all estates within Eldoret CBD as well as across the Municipality.
ELDOWAS water schedule in Eldoret estates
In the new schedule, locals within Huruma, Rural Housing and Kahoya on Sunday between 5pm and 9 am, Monday from 9 am to 5pm and Thursday from 5 pm – 9 am.
Those within Eldoret Center Upper (CDB) – Naiberi Police station to the main stage will receive water daily between 9 am – 9 am while ELDOWAS customers in lower Eldoret CBD, main stage up to Eastleigh and West Indies will receive water on Monday night, Wednesday night, Friday night and Sunday night.
For those in Eldoret West area, water on their pipes will be seen on Tuesday night, Thursday night and Saturday night – between 5 pm and 9 am.Lower Maili Nne, Baharini, Kapsaos and Chemalal have a water schedule for Tuesday and Friday (Day) between 9 am and 5 pm.
In Mwanzo estate, water is scheduled to be supplied on Sunday night (5pm and 9 am), Monday day (9 am – 5pm, Wednesday night (5 pm – 9 am) and Thursday day (9 am – 5pm).
Annex centre, Moi University School of Law, AIC Jamboni, Upper Elgon View and Mti Moja will receive water everyday night – between 5 pm and 9 am.
ELDOWAS water schedule for Kapsoya
Customers living around Kapsoya centre, Moi Girls, Dola, Hazina and Prisons will receive water every day and night between12 noon and 6 am while those in Corner Kubwa, St Mary’s, Koffi Anan and Illula (Upper Kapsoya) have their water schedule set for Friday night to Monday morning between 5 pm and 9 am.
The schedule for Kimumu Secondary, Peris Road, Mfalme and Opande Road Tuesday to Friday – day and night (9 am – 9 am) while Munyaka, Mwithiriria, Bahati and Action is Monday to Friday – day and night (9 am – 9 am).
Pioneer and Kipkaren ELDOWAS customers will get wate every day (9 am – 9 am) while the schedule for Kipkenyo is set for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9 am – 5 pm.
