World Vision International through Anglican Development Services(ADS) North Rift region has procured 75 smartphones for Community Health Promoters (CHPs) drawn from various Units across Elgeyo Marakwet County.
This happened as a result of an official request made by Governor Wisely Rotich to the organisation seeking for support of 106 out of 1260 CHPs since National Government managed to procure 1154 smartphones.
The phones will be used in keying health data of various units and ensuring that the information is captured electronically in community health information systems.

The CHPs play a crucial role in addressing health inequalities by bringing essential health services closer to the people, especially those in rural and underserved areas.
Further they act as link between the community and formal health facility.
The handing over event for the smartphones was presided over by Deputy Governor Prof. Grace Cheserek.
Among those present were Lameck Okello, Enrich 2, Reacts In Grow project, and Peter Nyorsok program coordinator(ADS) North Rift Region.

The department of health staff, led by the Country Executive for Health Michael Kibiwot, Chief Officers COs Caroline Magut and Jeremiah Chirchir, and other staff were also present.
