The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced reviewed fuel prices for the next 30 days.
In their monthly review of the prices in accordance with Section 101 of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, EPRA on March 14, 2023, said it had calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products which will be in force from 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑.
The new prices will see an increase for Super Petrol while those for Diesel and Kerosine will remain unchanged.
“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐊𝐬𝐡𝐬.𝟐.𝟎𝟎 per litre,” the authority said in a statement signed by Director General Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria.
“The price of diesel has been cross subsidized with that of Super Petrol while a subsidy of Kshs.23.49 per litre has been maintained for Kerosene in order to cushion consumers from otherwise high prices,” it added.
With the increase factored in, a litre of Super Petrol will cost Ksh179.30 in Nairobi, Ksh176.98 in Mombasa and Ksh179.50 in Eldoret.
Prices for Automotive Diesel and Kerosese remains unchanged – Ksh162.00 and Ksh145.94 in Nairobi while in Eldoret it remains Ksh162.72 for a litre of Diesel and Ksh146.67 for kerosene.
