ESPODEC Starlets to Play UOE Queens in FKF Women’s League Opener

Four matches are scheduled to grace the opening day of the new season of the Football Kenya Federation’s (FKF) Upper-Rift Women Regional League – Zone A.

The matches will be played this weekend in various venues.

ESPODEC Starlets vs UOE Queens

The biggest match of the weekend will be an Eldoret derby as UOE Queens host their perennial rivals, ESPODEC Starlets.

The game has been scheduled for Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Newsite Grounds, University of Eldoret.

ESPODEC Starlets coach Maurice Kamau told Uasin Gishu News that his team is well prepared for the new season.

He noted that his team is targeting a promotion this season, after narrowly missing out last year.

Kamau said the team has several new additions he hopes with be a plus for them in their promotion hunt.

“This season we have a boosted team with new signings,” the ESPODEC coach said.

“Also, some of our players who were on a long break are back. So we are optimistic of being promoted,” he added.

The players who did not feature in the last few games of the last season are also students at Moi University.

Some of the new faces that will be wearing the Langas-based side’s uniform this season include Rabeca Opilo from Solasa as well as Vyonne Chepkwemoi from the UOE Queens.

Several unattached players are also in the squad.

In addition to the EPODEC Starlets-UOE Queens clash, other matches include Kipkaren Starlets hosting City Angels at Bishop Delaney Memorial Grounds in Eldoret City on Saturday.
