The Great Chepsaita Cross Country race patron Farouk Kibet has urged members of the public to register with Taifa Care to streamline access to essential health services.
His remarks came during a free medical camp held at Chepkemel Primary School, where he emphasized the importance of public health awareness and called on Members of Parliament to enact laws that alleviate the burden of high medical costs.
He said, “No one should joke with their lives, and I want to tell the MPs to embrace policies that will push for quality services in the hospitals.”
Principal Secretary for Public Health Mary Muthoni reinforced the patrons’ message, announcing that comprehensive strategies to enhance preventive health measures have been put in place.
PS Muthoni also noted that community health promoters can monitor blood sugar levels, ensure children’s vaccinations, and promote a balanced diet.
“Over 3,000 individuals have already undergone screening through the Community Health Promoters (CHPs) program and referred for further medical evaluation,” said Muthoni.

Moreover, the Principal Secretary affirmed the continuity of the Linda Mama initiative, designed to support teenage mothers with crucial prenatal and postnatal care, further reiterating that every child has the right to access healthcare services, therefore, the need to reinforce the government’s commitment to safeguarding the health of vulnerable populations and the children.
Meanwhile, Nandi County Woman Member of Parliament Cynthia Muge called on the public to support Government policies and regulations because it will guide them during the implementation process.
On his part, Health Services County Executive Dr. Abraham Serem urged the public to take advantage of the exercise and be screened to ensure early treatment of the diseases.
According to Mpesa Foundation, business lead Samuel Kirubi, they are registering 24 patients with the Social Health Authority and supporting them for a year.
Present were Education CECM Anthony Sitienei, Chief Officers Dr. Paul Wangwe (Promotive and Preventive Health) and Dr Joyce Sang (Clinical Services)among other top government officials.
