The County Government of Uasin Gishu has strengthened its diagnostic capacity with the installation of a state-of-the-art ceiling-mounted X-ray machine at Moiben Sub-County Hospital, marking a major milestone in improving access to quality healthcare services for residents.
The advanced imaging equipment is designed to perform a wide range of radiological examinations, including chest, limb, spinal, and other skeletal imaging with greater precision and efficiency.
Additionally, the modern technology will significantly improve disease detection, enable timely diagnosis, and support clinicians in making informed treatment decisions.

The installation reflects Governor Dr Jonathan Bii’s commitment to modernising healthcare infrastructure and ensuring residents receive timely, accurate, and affordable diagnostic services within the county.
The ceiling-mounted digital X-ray system offers enhanced image quality, faster examination times, improved patient comfort, and reduced radiation exposure, ultimately boosting service delivery while minimising patient referrals to other facilities.
According to County Biomedical Engineer Moses Chumba, the installation of this modern X-ray machine is a significant step toward strengthening the diagnostic capabilities because it will enable healthcare professionals to accurately diagnose chest conditions, fractures, and other medical conditions, leading to better patient outcomes.

The acquisition of the advanced diagnostic equipment underscores the county’s continued investment in modern medical technology aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving patient care, and advancing the realisation of universal access to quality healthcare services.
