Murang’a Governor Dr Irungu Kang’ata has emerged as the best-performing county boss in the country, according to the latest Infotrak Research & Consulting survey.
In the “Top 15 Best Performing Governors” ranking released on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Kang’ata scored 80% approval, placing him ahead of 14 other governors across the country.
Coming in second and third are George Natembeya of Trans Nzoia with 76% and Dr Kimani Wamatangi of Kiambu with 71%, respectively.

The survey highlights governors who have recorded strong performance in service delivery, development projects, and public satisfaction over the review period.

Infotrak’s ranking is based on research and public perception on governance, development, and county service delivery. The findings are expected to shape political discourse ahead of the next election cycle as voters assess county leadership.
The results also reflect growing competition among governors to deliver tangible results in health, infrastructure, agriculture, and social services.
