Eldoret is gearing up to host two high-profile international delegations this August, as the city positions itself as a growing hub for investment in western Kenya.

City Manager Elzeba Busienei and City Board Chairperso Alice Kositany on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, led a strategic meeting with City directors to set the agenda and logistics for the upcoming courtesy visits by global investors and business missions.

The first delegation is from Eni, the Italian multinational energy company. Representatives are expected to meet the Uasin Gishu County Government and Eldoret City leadership to discuss opportunities in waste management, recycling, and the circular economy.

As part of the visit, the Eni team will also tour the city dumpsite and other key facilities to assess potential areas for partnership.

Starting 10th August, Eldoret will also host a week-long investment mission from the Chinese business community.

The delegation will hold meetings with County and City officials to explore investment in transport infrastructure, storm water drainage, waste management, the health sector, and other priority areas.

Speaking after the meeting, city officials said the engagements reflect Eldoret’s rising profile as a preferred investment destination. They are expected to unlock strategic partnerships, create jobs, improve service delivery, and support sustainable urban development.
