It’s now official, Alfred Keter has been voted out as the Nandi Hills Member of Parliament.
Final results announced by the Nandi Hills IEBC Constituency Returning Officer shows that Keter lost by a margin of over over 4,500 votes.
The winner was Bernard Kitur, the UDA candidate who garnered 25,503 votes.

Keter, seeking a third term on an independent ticket finished second with 18,037 votes.
Other candidates in the race were Vincent Kiptoo (215 votes), David Kiptpo (130 votes) and Charles Kiptanui who had 94 votes.
41,979 votes were cast in the Nandi Hills parliamentary race.
The Constituency was among the closely followed contest given Keter was considered a rebel within the UDA circles.

With the loss, he now goes back to the drawing board, having served for two terms since 2013.
Alfred Keter was first elected in 2013 on a United Republican Party (URP) and won re-election in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket.
