Incumbent William Chepkut has conceded to losing his Ainabkoi Member of Parliament seat.
Chepkut in a tweet on his verified Twitter account congratulated his main competitor Samuel Chepkonga.
The legislator was seeking a second term on an independent ticket.
However, the race was a repeat of the 2017 General Election in which Chepkut beat Chepkong, then the incumbent.

But in this election, Chepkonga was seeking a comeback using the UDA party.
While conceding defeat, Chepkut thanked voters in the constituency for giving him an opportunity to represent their interest in the National Assembly.
“To the people of Ainabkoi, thank you for the opportunity you gave me to serve you as Member of Parliament for the last 5 years. Its an honour. I congratulate @HonChepkonga as he prepares to take the office and move Ainabkoi forward. God bless Ainabkoi,” Chepkut tweeted.
Ainabkoi is one of the six constituencies in Uasin Gishu where independent candidates were battling those sponsored by UDA.

There have been earlier indications that the Deputy President-led party was headed for a clean sweep of all the MP seats in Uasin Gishu.
So far no official results have been announced by various IEBC Constituency Returning Officers in Uasin Gishu.
In the 2017 General Election, Chepkut garnered 23, 216 to be declared the winner, against Chepkong’a who got 19, 140 votes.
Results are expected before the end of the day.
