Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant David Sing’oei is mourning.
This follows the death of his son in a tragic road accident.
Uasin Gishu News understands Song’oei’s son is one of the two people that died following an accident at Maili Tisa on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
The accident, according to multiple sources involved a motorbike and a lorry at the Maili Tisa on the Eldoret Bypass in Kamagut.
“The two guys who lost their lives yesterday through a tragic accident at Maili Tisa Flyover, Kamagut involving a Motorbike and a Canter lorry. Two close friends and relatives. One is the son of Former MCA of Ng’enyilel Hon David K Sing’oei,” read one of the posts on Eldoret City Facebook Group.

Details of the accident however remain scanty.
Condolences
Already a number of Uasin Gishu leaders have sent their messages of condolences to Sing’oei, who also served as the Nge’enyilel Member of the County Assembly (MCA) for two terms.
One of the leaders is former Kapseret Member of Parliament candidate Frank Murgor.
“It such a great loss to lose such young energetic and brilliant young men. Something has to be done on this Southern bypass. We’ve had multiple loss of lives over the last 1 year and nobody seems to change anything even care,” Murgor who vied as an independent candidate posted on his Facebook page.
“I want to urge our national leaders to intervene and ask the tough questions. We should also exercise caution while using this road. Something has to be done!! Mutyo missing!” he added.
David Sing’oei was first elected in 2013 and won re-election in 2017.
During his two terms, the former MCA served as the majority chief whip at the Uasin Gishu County Assembly.

His gubernatorial bid ended at the UDA primaries where he finished a distant fifth in a race that had six candidates.
Sing’oei supported Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim’s campaigns.
However, he is among the two remaining candidates that are yet to secure government jobs, alongside Solomon Maritim alias ‘Gavana wa Baiskeli’.
Other Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirants have been appointed to various government jobs.
Prof. Julius Bitok who finished second behind Chelili is the Citizen Services Principal Secretary while Veska Kangongo is one of the Kenya Power Directors.
Former Kenyan Ambassador to China Sarah Serem was recently appointed the Kenya Post Office Savings Bank board chairperson.
