Uasin Gishu County Woman Member of Parliament Gladys Boss on Friday, October 17, 2025, joined the executive, judiciary, and Parliament top officials in paying her respect to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Odinga’s body was taken to Parliament Buildings to lie in state in honour of his contributions to the country as an MP, former Prime Minister, and a statesman
In a post on her social media pages, the National Assembly Deputy Speaker described the former ODM boss as a leader who served with unwavering conviction.

She expressed optimism that his legacy will continue to inspire unity and purpose amongst Kenyans.
“Today, we received Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, back in the House he served with unwavering conviction,” Gladys Boss said.
“Standing before him within the precincts is a reminder that leadership is measured in courage, sacrifice and resilience. May his legacy continue to inspire unity, purpose and bold service to our nation,” she added.
Raila’s body was later taken to Nyayo Stadium for the State Funeral Service before Kenyans were allowed to view it.

Today, Saturday, October 18, 2025, Raila’s body viewing is scheduled for the Mamboleo Grounds in Kisumu County before it is moved to his Opoda Farm in Bondo, Siaya County.
The former Prime Minister, who died in India on October 15, will be laid to rest on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
