As outlined in agenda six of his manifesto, Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii has been consistent and focused on infrastructure development.
The construction of new rural roads is significantly impacting various aspects of agricultural productivity, market access, and socio-economic development.
In the past few days, the County has enhanced its road grading program as spearheaded by the county boss.
Recently he launched the grading of Kondoo-Kaplum, Teldet-Kaplum, and Kondoo-Kabein roads in Tarakwa Ward, Kesses Sub County and also grading and gravelling of Ziwa Machine-Saos road in Ziwa ward, Soy Sub County.

“This program will significantly improve the movement of people and goods in this county which is a food basket for the nation and also promote agricultural sustainability,” Governor Dr Bii stated.
According to the County Executive for roads Eng. Joseph Lagat, the county has graded about 824 kilometres of roads, opened over 50 Kilometres of new roads and gravelled over 108 kilometres of roads under the 2023/24 financial year.
“These continuing road projects are aimed at ensuring that as a county we have roads that influence the cost and efficiency of transporting agricultural produce to markets, thereby affecting food prices and the economic well-being of our people,” CECM Eng. Lagat noted.
