The County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet is now at the final stages of relocating the Kapteren Health Centre.
According to Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich, the relocation is part of his administration’s effort to ensure locals are served better.
The Health facility serves the community within Kamariny ward in Keiyo North sub-county.
On Monday, December 30, 2024, the Governor visited the new location of the health facility.
He was accompanied by Senator William Kisang.

“Kapteren Health centre is the model Health facility for Kamariny ward in Keiyo North sub-county which the County government of Elgeyo Marakwet intend to equip for purposes of serving the community better,” the governor said.
The county boss further said the new site already has an outpatient unit, laboratory, septic and staff house.
Plans are in place for the construction of an ablution block which is expected to start soon.
“The relocation of the facility will happen by April 2025. The medical equipment has already been ordered,” Rotich said.
