Uasin Gishu is set to be the first county after Nairobi to host a Kenya School of Technical and Vocational Education Training (KSTVET) campus.
The Kenya School of TVET trains technical and vocational instructors.
The Uasin Gishu campus whose construction is in the final phase is located in Tachasis, Moiben Sub-County.

According to Interior Principal Secretary (PS) Dr Raymond Omollo, the Moiben campus is designed to address the increasing demand for trained TVET instructors across Kenya.
Why government plans to open Kenya School of TVET campus in Uasin Gishu
The project, the PS said, is driven by deliberate government investment in building, equipping and staffing TVET institutions.
He noted that the Kenya School of TVET Moiben Campus, is in its final stages of completion and expected to open soon.
“As a campus of the main Kenya School of TVET, the facility will focus on training TVET practitioners and instructors, reinforcing the Government’s commitment to youth empowerment through skills development and hands-on, industry-responsive training,” the PS said.
He further noted that the campus features modern learning and residential infrastructure, including classrooms, laboratories, computer rooms, a library, hostels as well as kitchen and dining facilities.

Additional hostel development under the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP) will be implemented at a later stage to support future expansion.
“Implementation is supported by the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration through coordination of security planning and public infrastructure integration, ensuring a safe, well-organised learning environment that strengthens the campus’ role as a strategic national training hub,” PS Omollo said.
