The Kenya School of TVET has announced plans to launch a course that will enable learners study German Language.
Institution’s Chief Principal Dr Edwin Tarno says the new move is in line with the Kenya Kwanza government’s bid to enhance the employability of Kenyans abroad.
The first batch of students seeking to study the German Language will report this September.
“In line with gvt efforts. At Kstvet We have launched German requirements courses to enhance employment of our graduates abroad,” Dr Tarno tweeted on Monday.

He also shared a Google Document that an interested individual can use to apply.
Solid foundation
According to the institution that was formerly known as the Kenya Technical Trainers College (KTTC), the course seeks to provide students with a solid foundation in German Language.
“The Kenya School of TVET is pleased to announce its upcoming German Language Course beginning on 10th September 2023. The course aims to provide students with a solid foundation in German language,” read part of the Google Doc.
“Whether you want to travel, study, work in Germany, or simply connect with German-speaking communities, our comprehensive German language course is the key to success,” it added.

Interested individuals have until August 25, 2023, to submit their applications.

Kenya School of TVET rolls out the new program a few months after President William Ruto said the country’s education system will be aligned with that of Germany.

“We agreed to introduce teaching and learning of German in basic education institutions, TVET and other institutions of higher learning,” Ruto said.
He spoke in May 2023 during a joint brief after hosting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
