County Engages Business Community On Improvement Of Eldoret Town Outlook

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has intensified engagement with varuius stakeholders in a push for Eldoret town facelift.

On Monday, county officials led by Director Urban Development Jacktone Kiprop had a one-on-one engagement with traders at Tagore stage and the Eastleigh Fish point.

Kiprop was accompanied by Director Housing Ms. Beatrice Menjo and the Administrator Lands Sila Boit.

The engagement was on how best to achieve a beautiful as well as a neat looking town soonest possible.

It was during the discussions that Kiprop advised the business community to improve their premises by repainting the walls and improving their frontages.

He said the improvement was key as the premises were the traders’ offices.

Director Menjo on her part expressed the need for the business community to prepare well to receive the estimated over 10,000 participants that will be attending the upcoming Devolution Conference in Eldoret town.

The conference which will be hosted at the Eldoret Sports club starts on August 15, 2023.

Later the team held a meeting with a section of the Muslim Community in Eldoret town.

During the meeting, Administrator Boit noted that business is expected to boom around the period of August and hence the need to ensure that all the premises look beautiful to attract the visitors.
