Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has challenged locals to put aside their political differences and work together in supporting his administration.
Bii says the August 9 general election is over, and it was time all citizens irrespective of their political affiliations worked for the common good of the county.
The governor popularly known as Koti Moja further committed that he will serve all locals, including those that did not vote for him.

“Kama ulipiga kura kwa ndugu yangu Buzeki, ama ulipigia Mheshimiwa Kirwa ama ulinipigia, sasa sisi ni jamii moja sasa. Hapana uliza nilipiga wapi kura,” Bii said.
He noted that the just concluded election was just a political competition and should not be the basis of dividing the community.
“Hiyo ilikua ni mashindani…ukishindana hakuna haja ya kusasirikia mtu. Kama ule mnashndana naye hangekua hangevunja rekodi. Kwa hivy mimi nitaheshimu wote,” the county boss added.
Bii won the gubernatorial seat after beating two other candidates – billionaire businessman Zedekiah Kiprop Buzeki and Mwalimu William Kirwa.
The two conceded defeat and agreed to support Bii.
Jobs assured
And as the new administration starts its tenure, the Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot has assured all county staff that their jobs are secure.

He however said each of them will be required to sign performance contracts.
Further Eng. Barorot cautioned the staff against rights seeking.
“Don’t use your job to try to get something on the sides because you have been given an opportunity to provide services to the locals and we are here to work and provide services to the people of Uasin Gishu,” said the deputy county boss.
