Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera’s Brother Dies after Short Illness

Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera and his family have been plunged into another mourning.

Nabwera on Monday, December 29, 2025, announced the death of his brother.

In a social media post, the MP said his brother, Nyongesa, had died after a three-day illness.

Nyongesa is a retired military police officer.

The Lugari MP while mourning his brother described him as a polite and spiritual man.

What a month? What a year? Been in a funeral after another. Just too tired now. While struggling with coming to terms with losses of my predecessors CJ and Dr. Kibunguchi, I have now my own brother, Nyongesa retired Military Police Officer after three days of illness,” Nabwera said in an emotional post.

Nyonge as we called you, Twiny as we were known in Kivaywa Boys, I don’t know how to mourn you. I don’t know where to begin. What a tragedy. A polite and so spiritual a man. Rest in in peace my comforter and protector. When many turned against me, you stood firm and said always, that is not the Nabii I know,” he added.

How many funerals has Nabii Nabwera attended in his constituency?

The legislator has had to attend several funerals in his constituency this December.

Plans are ongoing for the burial of two others, former Lugari MPs Cyrus Jirongo and Enoch Kibunguchy.

Jirongo died in a road accident at Karai area along Nairobi-Nakuru Highway while Kibunguchy died at Eldoret Hospital while undergoing treatment for a suspected food poisoning

How does man get the energy? It started with ten members of one family and it has just continued. Oh my God, save me the agony. It is enough,” the MP said in relation to the many funerals this December.
