Former Likuyani Member of Parliament, Dr. Enoch Kibunguchy, has passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
Family members confirmed that Dr. Kibunguchy died in the early hours of Tuesday, December 23, 2025, after his health deteriorated.
Was Enock Kibunguchy sick?
According to his cousin, Justus Wekesa, the former legislator had been admitted last week following complaints of severe stomach complications.
His nephew, Kelly Walubengo, stated that despite receiving medical care, Kibunguchy’s condition continued to worsen rapidly, raising concerns within the family.

Walubengo noted that relatives suspect there may have been foul play, alleging that something harmful could have been introduced into his food.
However, he emphasized that these claims remain unconfirmed.
Speaking to the media in Eldoret, family members said they are awaiting the outcome of a post mortem examination and further investigations to establish the exact cause of death.
Dr. Kibunguchy previously served as the Member of Parliament for Lugari before the constituency was subdivided, leading to the creation of Likuyani Constituency, which he later represented.
Which seat was Kibunguchy planning to vie for in 2027?
He recently joined the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) and hinted at seeking to recapture the Likuyani MP seat in 2027.

Leaders and residents from the region have expressed shock and grief following his death.
DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa described Kibunguchy’s passing as a significant loss to the Likuyani community, noting that the former MP had plans to vie for the parliamentary seat in the next general election with the aim of uplifting the lives of local residents.
Further details surrounding funeral arrangements and investigation findings are expected to be communicated by the family in due course.
