The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has called on final-year journalism and communication students to apply for its Media Industrial Attachment Programme for the September–November 2026 cohort.
In a notice shared on its platforms, MCK said the three-month attachment will run from 1st September to 30th November 2026 and is designed to give students practical work experience before graduation.
“The Media Council of Kenya, in partnership with recognised media houses, runs a media industrial attachment programme designed to provide journalism and communication students with practical work experience before graduation and to prepare them for the job market,” MCK stated.
Who can apply for MCK industrial attachment?
The programme is open to students pursuing a degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Digital Communication, or Corporate Communication.
Applicants must submit:
- A recommendation letter from their university/college issued within the last two months
- Academic transcripts for the current academic year
- A valid student ID card
- A valid MCK Student Press Card for 2026
- A mandatory sample of journalistic work, which may include published online content or school projects
Successful candidates will be placed in recognised media and communication outlets across the country in print, broadcast – (Radio/Television), technical/production as well as digital content creation

Interested students are required to submit all documents through the MCK online portal.
Applications should use the subject line: “Industrial Attachment Application September – November 2026”
Deadline has been set for midnight, Friday 14th August 2026.
Meanwhile, MCK warned the public that it does not solicit payments or recruit through agents or agencies.
