Moses Wetang’ula Says Re-electing President William Ruto Would Enhance Development in Western Region

National Assembly Speaker Moses Masika Wetang’ula on Saturday, August 22, 2026, hosted an engagement with Bungoma stakeholders and the business community at the Mabanga FTC in Bungoma County.

Wetang’ula described the engagement an invaluable opportunity to discuss a range of local and national issues.

During the event, the Ford Kenya Party leader affirmed the importance of the Western Kenya region to support President William Ruto who is seeking a second term in the upcoming general election set for August 2027.

I assured our people that re-electing President William Ruto would enhance development in the region,” Wetang’ula said in a post on his Facebook page.

He also highlighted the ongoing national government projects in the region and assured locals that they would be completed in due course.

Wetang’ula rallies Bungoma locals to register as voters

Additionally, the former Bungoma Senator rallied locals to continue registering as voters.

I continue to ask residents who have yet to register as voters to do so as soon as possible before the window closes, as a strategy to safeguard current gains and emerging development opportunities,” he said.

Wetang’ula also used the opportunity to reminisced about great memories from his childhood growing up in the neighbourhood of Bungoma Town.

Listening to the residents, I noted our people’s concerns about how best to accelerate growth in Bungoma Town, the County, and wider Western Kenya as part of the national development agenda,” he said.

With the electioneering period nearing, Wetang’ula has in the recent months been hosting various groups in bid to drum up support for President Ruto’s re-election.
