MP Caleb Amisi Voices His Concern Over Rising Insecurity in Trans Nzoia

Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament, Caleb Amisi has called on the Ministry of Interior and National Administration to address with speed and contain insecurity in Trans Nzoia County.

Speaking on Friday September, 5, 2025 after a consultative meeting with the officials of Boda Boda riders drawn from all the five sub counties, Amisi said the trend of insecurity in informal settlements should be treated as a matter of urgency.

I strongly urge our security agencies in close collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, to act swiftly in addressing these challenges and restoring safety for our people,” Amisi said.

The lawmaker who sits in the Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations committee in the National Assembly further called on law enforcement agencies in the cosmopolitan devolved unit to ensure that the county is safe for locals and investors who want to invest in Trans Nzoia.

Amisi’s remarks come less than 24 hours after Trans Nzoia County Commissioner, Gideon Oyagi and his security committee released a list of 57 youths who are suspected to be members of a dreaded gang that has been terrorizing residents of Matisi and Tuwan wards.

Amisi who is also a member of the youthful leaders driven Kenya Moja caucus, further stated that they are focused on fighting against extra judicial killings, corruption and looting of public resources, entrenching accountability and promoting good governance.

We also discussed matters of economic empowerment and leadership,” he added.

Earlier in the day, the MP who is serving his second term in the National Assembly commissioned six modern classrooms at Masinde Muliro Primary School in Tuwan Ward.

He also handed over three new classrooms at Mt. Elgon Primary School in Machewa Ward.

The 11 classrooms were fully funded by the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).

This is part of my unwavering commitment to strengthen education by providing modern infrastructure that supports effective teaching and dignified learning for every child in Saboti Constituency,” the lawmaker said.
