Nandi County Signs MoU with Ministry Of Water, KEWI

The County Government of Nandi on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Water and Sanitation.

The agreement will focus on crucial objective of reducing non-revenue water aiming to enhance the efficiency of water management.

Speaking after signing the agreement, Governor Stephen Sang emphasized on the need to reduce water lose true illegal pipe connection and tendancy of people not willing to pay water bills.

The county government also has established a framework with Kenya Water Institute (KEWI).

The partnership is aiming for a joint capacity building activities specifically related to water resource management within the county and for the benefit of it’s residents.

In addition, the two agreements will seek to improve water management, enhance sustainability, and ensure availability clean water resource for all as well as creating positive impacts on water sector in our county.

Water projects

Earlier, governor Sang announced that they had partnered with the National Government in drilling a number of borehole water projects for various institutions in the county.

This will ensure that there is adequate water supply to such facilities and it’s environs,” the county boss said in an update his verified Facebook page.

As part of the partnership, they officially commissioned the drilling of Ndurio Primary School Borehole Water Project in Aldai Constituency.

The project will also serve the community.

Road improvement

Meanwhile, residents of Kabiyet Ward in Mosop have a reason to smile after most of the roads which have not been accessible were improved by the County Government through the department of Public Works,Transport and Infrastructure.

On Friday, gravelling of Kipkombot-Kaptimdo road was witnessed and the residents thanked the County government for the good job they’re doing since they can now go on with their businesses without road challenges.

The department has pledged to see to it that all roads in Nandi county are improved and maintained in due course continually.
