A survey conducted by Infotrak has rated Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya as the best-performing in the country.
Natembeya serving his first term tied at the top alongside Homa Bay’s Gladys Wanga with a 70 per cent score.
West Pokot’s Simon Kachapin was ranked third with a 67 per cent score while Simba Arati (Kisii), Irungu Kang’ata (Murang’a), Jeremiah Lomurkai (Turkana) and Makueni’s Mutula Kilonzo Junior tied at position four with 64 per cent scores each.
According to Infrotrak, the survey was conducted between July and September 2023 – covering all 47 counties, 290 constituencies and 1,450 wards – with an overall sample of 58,748.
The first survey was conducted between July and August 2023 involving 36,200 participants while the second survey involving 22,500 samples was conducted to boost the sample size “so that each constituency had at least 200 respondents.”
Other top-performing governors were Elgeyo Marakwet’s Wisley Rotich, Kawira Mwangaza (Meru) and Julius Malombe of Kitui who each had a rating of 63 per cent.
Uasin Gishu’s Jonathan Bii Chelilim had a score of 56 per cent to be rated at number 23 alongside Johnstone Sakaja (Nairobi), Wilber Otichilo (Vihiga) and Fernandes Barasa (Kakamega).
