Uasin Gishu has flagged off teams that will be representing the county at the upcoming regional school games.
The teams were picked during the county school games held at various venues over the weekend.
“We were able to pick a team that will proceed to Kajiado on Friday this week to represent the county at the regional competition. Winners will proceed to the national competitions,” said Uasin Gishu County Director of Education Harrison Muriuki.
During the competition, Uasin Gishu High School and Moi Girls High School won basketball and football trophies to pick their spot at the regional games.

However, according to the Education County Director, there was the emergence of several little-known schools that booked their tickets to Kajiado after lifting various trophies.
Tuiyot secondary school won the County Volleyball team while Olare Secondary School is the new netball champion.
“These schools are proceeding to the regional championship in Kajiado. We expect those representing us to perform well and to proceed to the nationals which will be hosted at Nakuru,” Muriuki said.

Also, the County Director of Education revealed that Uasin Gishu will be hosting regional and national games for students with special needs.
“We have already identified villages where the students with special needs will be hosted. This includes Paul Boit, Hill school, Moi Girls and Chebisaas High Schools,” Muriuki added.
