Our votes were stolen. Stay united our people! Don’t allow anyone to be created as another project to split the unity! We got votes from across the county and we speak for young people that lack opportunity! Let’s stay united!” Kipchumba said.

Irregularities

On Sunday, the youthful politician had claimed irregularities in the UDA nomination.

He claimed over 6,000 votes were stuffed in favour of Kisang.

As #KaitSait, we ran a great a race! We led 2 /4 constituencies. Our competitor won (illegally) the constituency he lost by 10,000+ votes. We got votes across EMC. We lost with 1,400 votes. With an estimated 6,000+ ballots stuffed, bribed & illegally tallied, we had great run!” the real estate developer said in a tweet.

Kipchumba had promised to issue a statement soon.

Currently, he is running a poll on his official Twitter handle, asking his supporters whether he should allow the party to decide for them who becomes the next senator or the people.

In the final results announced by the UDA returning officer, Kisang garnered 28,126 votes ahead of his rivals Tim Kipchumba and Jonah Tanui who garnered 26,756 and 26,735 votes respectively.
