As registration of students joining form one across the country continues, Moi Girls High School in Eldoret town is almost concluding the exercise.
Students from all over the country started reporting to their respective schools on Monday, February 6, 2023.
At the Eldoret-based national girls’ school, by mid-day on the first day, over 60 per cent of the expected learners had already been admitted.
Moi Girls High School Chief Principal Juliana Kirui said they expect to admit at least 450 students at the end of the process.

“Maybe the number will go higher than that but that is the number that we have on our list as of now. As at eleven in the morning we were doing at around 300 and so the reporting is very good,” Kirui said.
“Parents were here as early as 5 am and we started admitting new students a few minutes to 8.00 am,” she added.
Being among the secondary schools that many learners dream of joining, in the past admissions, all the students usually report within the first two days.
The Ministry of Education has however set between February 6, 2023, and February 10, 2023, as the period in which all the form ones should report to their respective schools.

About 1.2 million learners sat for the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.
Based on the government’s 100 per cent transition policy, all of them are expected to proceed to secondary schools.
