A total of 22 students from Elgeyo Marakwet whom were recently flagged off to Australia have commenced their studies.
The 22 were selected to fly to Melbourne, Australia for further studies under the county’s flagship program dubbed ‘Pepea’.
An update from Governor Wisely Rotich indicate that an additional 10 students recently joined the 22 who have since been admitted to the Cambridge International College (CIC).

“Our 22 students flagged off recently have already arrived and commenced their studies at the Cambridge International College (CIC) in Melbourne, Australia,” Rotich said in a post on his verified Facebook page, Wednesday.
“Another 10 students have joined them raising the total number in CIC to 32 students,” he added.
Meanwhile, the county boss has revealed that his administration is nearing signing another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) wit Torrens University.

The MoU, according to Rotich, will see youths from Elgeyo Marakwet get a 35 per cent scholarship offer to join the institution.
“Excitingly, we are on the verge of cementing a significant partnership with Torrens University to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), a worthy collaboration which will see a 35% scholarship offer to our students, further enhancing the opportunities available to them,” the governor said.
Torrens University is Australia’s leading international university, built on the shoulders of giants.

Pepea is the governor’s brainchild in which the county scouts for opportunities for its youth to fly aboard for further studies.
Students under the program get admitted to institutions abroad after the county negotiates for a scholarship.
