After relying on a temporary bridge built during the colonial period, residents of Seet Village in Ngeria Ward, Kapseret Sub County have a reason to celebrate following the construction of Ngara Falls -Chepyakwai Box Culvert which is on course to completion.
While inspecting the ongoing construction of the slab and wall apartments for the Box Culvert on Wednesday, Roads, Transport and Public Works Chief Officer, Engineer Abraham Kiptalam, said the team from the department is keen on the required standards and quality of work.
“This is among the ten Bridges and Box Culverts earmarked for construction in various wards as promised by our Governor Jonathan Bii. We have already completed and commissioned one in Kesses Sub County and another major bridge in Soy Sub County is almost complete,” he said.

The chief officer also inspected the ongoing drainage works at Madonna and Rehema areas where he added that the County is also opening drainage paths in areas affected by flooding during the onset of the ongoing heavy rainfall.
Richard Misoi, a resident of Seet Village in Ngeria ward thanked the county administration for initiating the project saying they have had a problem with transport since independence.
“Crossing this river has been a challenge especially for school-going children when it rains,” Misoi said.
“We are optimistic that this Box Culvert will be completed by December this year,” he added.
