Phillip Meli: Governor Biii Nominates Former Mandago CECM New County Secretary

Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim has announced three major appointments to critical positions in his administration.

The appointments include a new County Attorney, County Secretary, and Secretary/CEO of the County Public Service Board.

In a statement signed by the Director of Governor’s Press Silah Kosgey, the Governor said the nominees were selected based on recommendations from selection panels and approved under relevant legal provisions.

Who’s the nominated Uasin Gishu County Attorney

The Governor nominated Sylvester Kipkemei Metto as the new County Attorney.

Metto is an accomplished legal practitioner with 19 years of experience. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and additional qualifications in legislative drafting.

His extensive legal expertise includes advocacy, arbitration, and leadership roles.

Mr. Metto brings not only legal acumen but also a proven track record of public service,” Governor Chelilim said. “He will play a key role in ensuring the county’s legal frameworks remain robust and in compliance with national standards.”

Melly who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyatta University previously served as an Economic Advisor to the Governor and Senior Advisor on gender-related economic empowerment for the national government.

He was also a Trade County Executive Committee Member under former Governor Jackson Mandago.

With his vast experience in policy and administration, Mr. Meli is well-positioned to steer the county toward efficient service delivery,” stated the Governor. “His leadership will strengthen the county’s operational capabilities.”

New Uasin Gishu County Public Service Board Secretary

Meanwhile, Silas Ronoh Isaac has been nominated as Secretary/CEO of the County Public Service Board.

Ronoh, a certified public accountant and finance expert, has served as Director of Finance for the Uasin Gishu County Government.

His background includes various roles in financial planning and municipal management.

Mr. Ronoh’s financial expertise is a tremendous asset to this administration,” Governor Chelilim emphasized. “He will be instrumental in ensuring transparency and efficiency in the county’s human resource and public service operations.

The Governor expressed confidence in the nominees, highlighting their qualifications and commitment to public service.

I am certain these appointments will enhance the effectiveness of our administration and drive Uasin Gishu toward greater prosperity,” he said.

The appointees have been forwarded to the Uasin Gishu County Assembly for consideration and approval.
