Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga is this Friday taking his Azimio la Amani tour to Deputy President William Ruto’s home county – Uasin Gishu.

Raila who arrived in the county’s capital – Eldoret town, on Thursday evening is expected to hold a town hall meeting with ODM delegates from 5 North Rift Counties at Kenmosa Village.

During the meeting, the former Prime Minister is expected to continue championing peaceful co-existence amongst Kenyans, as well as outlining his agenda for the people of Kenya ahead of the 2022 polls.

Despite not officially joining the presidential race, the veteran opposition chief has been showing indications that he will be going for the top seat, and the #AzimioLaAmani tours across the country are one such hint of his presidential bid.

After a meeting with the delegates, the ODM leader is later on Friday expected to address a political rally at Huruma Grounds, just on the outskirts of Eldoret town.

Despite being the home county of the DP, Raila enjoys considerable support in the area which is largely cosmopolitan.

The visit to Uasin Gishu comes just days after the former Premier ruled out the possibility of working with Ruto ahead of the 2022 general election.

During an interview that was aired simultaneously on several Kalenjin vernacular Radio Stations, Raila said there are no permanent enemies in politics but said it is almost assured that he will be on the opposing sides in 2022 because of the different ideologies they’re pushing.

When he arrived at the Eldoret International Airport, the ODM leader was received with among others Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Eng. Alex Tolgos.
