Infotrak Research and Consulting on Sunday released a survey ranking Members of Parliament based on their performance.
The survey, according to the research firm, was carried out from July to September 2023. It encompassed all 47 counties, 290 constituencies, and 1450 wards, with a total sample size of 58,748 participants.
Each county cluster sample size was determined based on the population and the number of wards within the county, varying from 619 to 3400 respondents.
Overall, Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro was rated the best performing with a score of 70 per cent.
Narrowing down to the regional performance of MPs, Naisula Lesuuda of Samburu West tied at the top, alongside Chepalungu’s Victor Kipngetich Koech, Francis Kuria (Molo), and Mogotio’s Reuben Kiborek.
They all had a rating of 63% to be ranked the best-performing legislators in Rift Valley.
Sigor’s Peter Lochakapong was fifth with a rating of 62% followed by David Pkosing of Pokot South who had 61%.
Other top performers from Rift Valley include Gideon Kipkoech (Keiyo South) who had 59%, Robert Pukose (Endebess) at 58% and Adams Kipsanai of Keiyo North as well as Marakwet East’s Kipchumba Toroitch who had 58% rating each.
While there were three MPs from Elgeyo Marakwet county among the best performers, there was no single legislator from Uasin Gishu and Nandi in the list of the top 10 based on the Infotrak survey.
