Safaricom Announces Scheduled Fuliza System Upgrade on November 17, 2025

Safaricom has announced a planned maintenance exercise on its Fuliza overdraft platform.

The exercise, Safaricom said, is set to take place on Monday, 17th November 2025, from 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

In a public notice on Saturday, November 15, 2025, the company said the temporary service interruption is part of ongoing efforts to enhance reliability and also security for users.

The telecommunications firm emphasised its commitment to improving the digital lending service.

“We are continually improving our platform to enhance our services connecting you, our customers, with more innovations and an even better experience,” the statement read.

The upgrade, according to Safaricom, is aimed at ensuring the platform remains “always on, safe, secure, and also worry-free.”

During the brief maintenance period, Fuliza services may be intermittent, but all other M-Pesa functions will remain unaffected.

The company added that the timing of the system upgrade was deliberately chosen to minimise disruption. It further assured users of its awareness of the platform’s importance, noting that the activity had been “planned to result in minimal inconvenience.”

Safaricom also apologised for any disruption that may arise as a result of the planned maintenance and thanked customers for their continued support.
