Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has named Michael Gumo, son of former Westlands Member of Parliament Fred Gumo as part of his cabinet.
Sakaja unveiled his cabinet nominees on October 26, 2022, during a media briefing at City Hall, Nairobi.
Gumo, who had expressed interest to vie for the Westlands MP seat on an ODM ticket, before later quitting the race in favour of incumbent Tim Wanyonyi has been nominated to be in charge of Innovation and Digital Economy.

Other notable in the cabinet nominee list is Charles Kerich who served during former Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko’s administration.
Political analyst and Amani National Congress (ANC) official Brian Mulama was also named in the cabinet.
The Nairobi county boss named a cabinet of 10 County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) that consists of four women.

The names of the nominees have been forwarded to the Nairobi County Assembly for vetting and consideration.
