Senators Impressed by Elgeyo Marakwet’s Own Source Revenue Collection

The Senate ICT Committe has lauded Elgeyo Marakwet for being among top three counties in Kenya that had automated its revenue collection thus hitting its targets.

The Committee, Chaired by Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang, said this showed the County was keen on transparency and accountability on what it collects.

As a result, he said, the County’s revenue had increased by 162% overshooting its targets.

We are overwhelmingly impressed by your presentation on how you collect your revenues. At the click of a button, we are able to see the monies coming into the County. You have nothing to hide,” said Chesang.
