The National Police Service (NPS) has announced the death of Charlton Murithi, a Senior Assistant Inspector General (SAIG) of Police.
NPS Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai in a statement on Friday, August 19, 2022, said SAIG Murithi died following a long illness bravely borne.
“Mr Charlton Murithi was a senior and long-serving officer with a distinguished career,” Mutyambai said.

“He has diligently served the Nation and NPS in various capacities with distinction,” he added.
Until his death, SAIG Murithi was serving as the Director of Kenya National Focal Point on Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons.
“The late leaves behind a loving and doting family, colleagues and friends with great shared memories. To them all, I convey my utmost condolences and deep sympathies for the unbearable loss,” said the Inspector General of Police.
The family of the late Senior Assistant Inspector General has been informed of his passing on and the National Police Service says it is coordinating with them on funeral arrangements.
