Solasa Stima Queens head coach Johnson Kimungui has expressed confidence of escaping relegation position as round 26 fixtures roll this weekend.
Solasa who are in the ninth position in the FKF Women Division One Zone B log are nine points behind their Eldoret-based Gene Queens counterparts but Kimungui is confident that his charges will cruise through to finish above the relegation log.
“The matches ahead of us are a must win for the girls, I have made it clear in training how it is important not to concede goals but to go for maximum points,” he said.
In an exclusive interview with Uasin Gishu News, the Solasa head coach said he was racing against time to ensure the oldest team in the league retains her slot in the second tier league.
“Solasa is the club that has more experience in this league and we expect to put joy in the faces of our fans in the coming matches,” he said.
Weekend fixtures
The Langas-based team will be bracing for their battles by hosting sixth placed Kolwa Falcons at ASK Eldoret showground on Sunday.
In other fixtures, Gene Queens will be hoping to return to winning ways when they travel to Sang’alo Training Institute to face Bungoma Queens.
Gene Queens lost 1-0 at home to Kitale-based Royal Starlets in the mid-week match.
Eleventh placed Vihiga Leeds will be hosting Royal Starlets at Esirabe Primary School Grounds.
The Leeds are winless in their last five matches and are staring at the cut from Division One League if their latest series of performance will continue.
Another one-sided match most-likely to be experienced this weekend will pit Rongai Eaglets against promotion-chaser Kisped Queens.
Eaglets whose wings seemed to have been clipped this season are struggling at the 12th position managing only three points.
Kisped are hunting for lots of goals as they edge closer to league leaders Gideons Starlets.
Further, Gusii Starlets will host league leaders Gideons Starlets at Gusii stadium as the away team strive to move further on the log.
