Billionaire entrepreneur and Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki has listed some of what he says are his thoughts and plans for the county.
Buzeki is seeking to be the next Governor of Uasin Gishu in the upcoming general elections.
He is vying for the seat, for the second time, as an Independent candidate, and will be facing off with United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Jonathan Bii Chelilim, alias ‘Koti Moja’.
The general election is scheduled for August 9, 2022.
Here is a list of Buzeki’s thoughts and plans for Uasin Gishu, as outlined on his official Facebook page;
-
Meat Processing Industry
This is driven by the need to tap into the livestock market within the North Rift Economic Bloc (Noreb). The canned beef and the goat meat will find their way to the middle East Via Eldoret Airport. In doing so, we will create employment and business for our people.
-
The Milk processor
It has happened in other Counties. In Uasin Gishu we will do it in a bigger way. We will target powder milk for the region and global market. We will also support our farmers to produce more milk to sustain our factory.
-
Grain processor
Our intention is to engage in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to set up County-owned Miller. In doing so, we will have our own final products including Animal feeds to support our dairy sector.
-
Industrial Zone
Apart from the above major industry, we will set up an Industrial zone to support local and international investors. Cottage industries like juice extractions and leatherwork among others will be supported at the park.
-
Youth innovation and business incubation centers
Our youth are our greatest potential. We will set up an innovations center and a place to incubate their business ideas in Eldoret and other major cities.
“This is what we mean by Uongozi ni sera. It has nothing to do with rewarding or sympathies with anyone. It has all to do it delivering for our people. With your support we will deliver,” notes the billionaire businessman-turned-politician.
