Healthcare services in six counties received a significant boost on Friday with the donation of emergency response vehicles.
The vehicles donated by the World Health Organization Kenya (WHO) were gratefully received by the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Nakhumicha S. Wafula, at Afya House, Nairobi.
The counties of Embu, Nyamira, Mandera, Elgeyo Marakwet, Bungoma, and Trans Nzoia were the recipients of these vehicles, which are expected to greatly enhance the mobility of health-related activities and services.
Speaking at the event, the CS said the vehicles donated are equipped with advanced technology for emergency response, empowering healthcare professionals in counties to effectively and efficiently respond to emergencies and aid those in need.

She further said the Ministry of Health is committed to achieving universal healthcare for all Kenyans, working closely with counties.
The donation of emergency response vehicles strengthens healthcare infrastructure and further improves access to quality services.
The WHO Country Representative, Dr Abdourahmane Diallo also highlighted the vehicles’ significance in improving emergency response nationwide.
“Equipped with advanced tech and essential supplies, they’ll be crucial in addressing public health crises and delivering timely healthcare services,” Diallo said.

The Ceremony was attended by Dr Josephine Mburu, Principal Secretary (PS) of Public Health, Eng Peter Tum, PS of Medical Services, Amos Nyaribo (Governor, Nyamira), Wisley Rotich (Governor, Elgeyo Marakwet), as well as Justus Kinywa Mugo (Deputy Governor, Embu), among others.
