Uasin Gishu Firefighters’ Quick Response Saves Property Worth Millions of Shillings in Eldoret 

Firefighters from the County Government of Uasin Gishu have succeeded in putting off a bushfire that broke out at a two-acre undeveloped piece of land within Posta Mawe estate in Eldoret City on Friday.

The firefighters responded effectively to the scene immediately after receiving an emergency call from one of the tenants.

It was established that the fire resulted from a point where someone had lit a fire to burn waste.

The fire spread very first to the nearby residential houses, however, it was controlled within twenty minutes by the fire brigade.

There has been a rise in fire incidents within the county due to the prevailing dry season.

According to Uasin Gishu Chief Fire Officer David Sitati,  at least 20 Fire incidences have been reported in the region this year alone
