Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has announced progress on multiple development projects across Kapseret/Simat and Kipkenyo wards.
In a social media post dated May 20, 2026, Chelilim said the county’s focus on grassroots development was “bearing fruit” in the two wards.
“Our commitment to grassroots development continues to bear fruit across Kapseret/Simat Ward,” he said.
Education and Water Projects in Kapseret/Simat Ward
Construction of Early Childhood Development Education classrooms is ongoing at Oleseregech, Mutwot, Tabarin, and St. James Emgwen, aimed at improving the learning environment for young children.

Residents are also benefiting from completed water projects in Kapteldet, Chepchabai, Nganiat, Emgwen, and Lemook Kaplelach. Chelilim said an upcoming milk processing plant in Simat is expected to strengthen dairy farming and create more economic opportunities for farmers in the area.
Healthcare access has also been boosted by upgrades at Kapteldon Level 4 Hospital, he added.
Kipkenyo Ward Sees ECDE and Water Completion
In Kipkenyo Ward, the Kisor and St. Mary’s Nyakinywa ECDE centres have been completed, with work progressing at Kiptotor and West Farmers ECDE centres.
Water access has improved following the completion of projects at Chebarus Primary, Brekar, and Nyakinywa.
Chelilim noted that upgraded road networks, bridges, drainage systems, and high mast floodlights have improved connectivity and security within the area.

During the evening event at Kabongo Grounds, he issued bursary cheques to over 1,800 students from Kipkenyo and Kapseret/Simat wards to support their education.
The governor framed the projects as part of the county’s ongoing commitment to expand access to education, water, healthcare, and economic opportunities at the ward level.
