Uasin Gishu Grants 100% Waiver on Land Rates Penalties and Interest

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has announced a 100 per cent waiver on all penalties and interest accrued on outstanding land rates.

The move is aimed at encouraging property owners to clear their arrears.

In a public notice issued by the Department of Finance and Economic Planning, on March 2, 2026, the waiver applies to all accumulated interest and penalties on unpaid land rates.

His Excellency Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, E.G.H., Governor of Uasin Gishu County, wishes to inform all property owners that a 100% waiver has been granted on all outstanding interest and penalties on land rates,” the notice states.

The county government indicated that the waiver will run for a limited period, urging landowners to take advantage of the relief window.

The waiver shall be valid upto 31st March, 2026,” the notice adds.

Property owners have been encouraged to settle their principal land rates within the stipulated timeline to benefit from the full waiver.

Residents can make payments through the Uasin Gishu County Self-Service Platform at https://sisibopay.uasingishu.go.ke.

The county has also advised residents to visit the Uasin Gishu County Service Centre, their nearest Ward Office, or Huduma Centre for assistance.

Additionally, taxpayers can access quick services by dialing *764# on their phones.

The county government further noted that it is currently validating business details within Uasin Gishu County, signalling a broader effort to streamline revenue collection and update its records.

The initiative is expected to ease the financial burden on property owners while boosting compliance and enhancing local revenue collection.
