The Uasin Gishu County Government has announced the availability of market spaces for traders at five Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) markets across the county, inviting eligible applicants to apply for allocation.
In a public notice issued through the Department of Trade, Investment, Industrialisation, Tourism, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development, the county said spaces are available at 64 Iconic, Kapseret, Ainabkoi, Kesses and Matharu ESP markets.
The county government said the allocation exercise is aimed at providing traders with opportunities to conduct lawful business activities within the markets.
According to the notice, applicants must be legally eligible to operate a business and comply with all applicable market regulations, by-laws and procedures. Applications can be submitted online through a designated Google Forms link or through ward administrators’ offices and market offices.

Applicants are required to download and print their completed application forms, attach the necessary documentation and submit them to the Directorate of Trade at KVDA’s 12th Floor offices or to ward offices. The county government has set September 14, 2026, at 5 p.m. as the deadline for submission of applications.
Officials cautioned that submitting an application does not automatically guarantee allocation of a market space. The allocation process, the notice states, will be conducted in accordance with county laws, policies and procedures.
Successful applicants will be notified through the publication of their names on market notice boards. For additional information, traders have been advised to contact the Trade Department through trade@uasingishu.go.ke.
The notice was issued by the Directorate of Trade and Enterprise Development, County Government of Uasin Gishu.
