The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party is headed for a clean sweep in all major elective seats in Uasin Gishu County.
According to provisional results, which are subject to confirmation by declarations from IEBC officials, the Deputy President William Ruto-led party is on course to win all the six Member of Parliament (MP) positions, Senate, County Woman MP and Governor seat.
Already, UDA’s win has been made official in Moiben Constituency, after its candidate Prof. Phyllis Bartoo was announced the winner in the parliamentary race, Wednesday night.

Bartoo floored independent candidate Silas Tiren, who was the incumbent.
Other assured wins are for Oscar Sudi in Kapseret and Samuel Chepkonga for Ainabkoi Constituency.
Main competitors in the two constituencies – Frank Murgor and incumbent MP William Chepkut have already conceded defeat.
And in Kesses Constituency, provisional results put CPA Julius Ruto ahead of the current MP Dr Swarup Mishra.

Kesses is a constituency with a history of never electing an MP for more than two terms, and it looks like the voters are not about to move away from this tradition.
UDA wave too strong for independents
For Soy Constituency, UDA’s David Kiplagat is also headed for a win.
Kiplagat who has served as the Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker for the last five years suggested, in a post on his Facebook page, that his own tally had indicated he won the race.
Meanwhile, DP Ruto’s constituency – Turbo, is also headed for a UDA win, with incumbent Janet Sitienei Rotich in a commanding lead against ODM’s Samson Kimani Mugo alias Samkiz.

For the County Woman MP seat race, incumbent Gladys Boss Shollei has a commanding lead, same as Senate candidate Jackson Mandago who was up against independent candidate Robert Arap Kemei.
And for the county’s big seat, Jonathan Bii Chelili alias Koti Moja also has a lead against his main rival, independent candidate Bundotich Zedekiah Kprop Buzeki.
Official results are expected to be announced before the end of Thursday, August 11, 2022.
