Samuel Chepkong’a is the Ainabkoi Member of Parliament-elect.
Chepkong’a, a former MP in the constituency was on Thursday, August 11, 2022, announced the winner.
The Constituency Returning Officer declared him MP-elect after garnering 26,479 votes against the incumbent William Chepkut who had 13,510 votes.
Chepkong’a was the UDA candidate while Chepkut was seeking re-election as an independent candidate.

Chepkut who beat Chepkong’a in the 2017 general election had already conceded defeat.
“To the people of Ainabkoi, thank you for the opportunity you gave me to serve you as Member of Parliament for the last 5 years. Its an honour. I congratulate @HonChepkonga as he prepares to take the office and move Ainabkoi forward. God bless Ainabkoi,” he tweeted on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

Other candidates in the race garnered way behind the two leading contenders for the seat.
Independent candidate Terry Maina, who lost in the UDA nominations finished third with 2,701 votes, Lina Komen (735 votes), William Kiptum (448 votes) and Dorcas Chepkemboi had 274 votes.
Koti Moja wins in Buzeki’s constituency
In the gubernatorial race, UDA’s Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja garnered 22,708 votes in the Ainabkoi Constituency.
His main competitor Zedekiah Kiprop Buzeki had 20,455 votes. It is worth noting that Ainabkoi is Buzeki’s home constituency.
UDM candidate Mwalimu William Kirwa had 772 votes in the constituency.
For the two-horse Senate race, outgoing Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago garnered 29,559 votes in the constituency with Robert Arap Kemei getting 14,401 votes.

And in the presidential results in Ainabkoi Constituency, Deputy President Dr William Ruto had 35,401 votes compared to 8,620 votes that Azimio’s Raila Odinga garnered.
Roots Party presidential candidate Prof. George Wajackoya had 85 votes while Agano Party’s Waihiga Mwaure garnered 50 votes from the entire constituency.
Ainabkoi Constituency had 62,606 registered voters.
