Tiren Falls to UDA’s Prof. Phylis Bartoo in Moiben

Prof. Phyllis Bartoo was on Wednesday night, August 10, 2022, declared Moiben Member of Parliament-elect.

The UDA candidate won the race after garnering an impressive 40,892 votes.

She beat several other candidates among them incumbent MP Silas Tiren.

Results announced by IEBC County Returning Officer indicate that Tiren garnered a paltry 8,790 votes.

Moiben is one of the six constituencies.

Prof. Bartoo becomes the first MP to be formerly declared winner.

Tallying of votes in other constituencies were by Wednesday night almost done.

But the respective Constituency Returning Officers said they would be making formal announcement early on Thursday morning, August 11, 2022.

And according to preliminary results, UDA candidates were leading in Kesses, Ainabkoi, Kapseret and Soy Constituencies.

Oscar Sudi at a past event. He is set to be re-elected for a third term.

Already an MP candidate in Kapseret on an independent ticket Frank Murgor had conceded defeat to incumbent Oscar Sudi.

Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut had also conceded to UDA’s Samuel Chepkonga.

In Soy Constituency, the outgoing Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat who is also the UDA candidate had indicated that he was headed for a win.
