The University of Eldoret has announced the postponement of its upcoming 12th graduation ceremony.
Initially, the university was to hold the graduation on October 26, 2023.
However, the latest update on the institution’s website indicates that the graduation has been moved to November 24th 2023.
No reason was given for the postponement of the graduation.
“This is to inform all graduands that the University of Eldoret 12th graduation ceremony which was scheduled for Thursday 26th October, 2023 has been postponed to Friday 24th November, 2023 starting at 8.00 am,” read part of the update.
“Prior to the graduation ceremony, there will be a rehearsal for graduation on Thursday 23rd November, 2023 starting at 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m,” it added.
The Chepkoilel-based university further noted that all the graduands are expected to pay the graduation fee and their alumni contributions.
It also reminded graduands that it was their responsibility to confirm relevant information with their respective Deans of Schools by Friday 6th November, 2023.
All graduands have also been advised to register for graduation after confirming that they have met all requirements for graduation including payment of all fees.
“They are required to check their status with the respective schools and/or by visiting the University of Eldoret website: www.uoeld.ac.ke,” the university said.
“Registration will be with the respective Deans of Schools offices. Graduands MUST fill the graduation registration form: UOE/AC/GRAD/02 and submit latest 6th November, 2023,” it added.
In addition, all those graduating have been warned against inserting new names other than those used during their admission into the University.
According to the University of Eldoret management, it is the responsibility of graduands to ascertain the order and correctness of their names and report any errors to the respective Deans of Schools.
UoE Graduation fees
Diploma and undergraduates will be required to pay a graduation fee of Ksh3,000 and Ksh500 convocation fees while the postgraduate diploma, Master and PhD graduants will pay Ksh5,000 graduation fees and Ksh1,000 convocation fees.
“The convocation meeting will be held on Thursday 23rd November, 2023 immediately after the rehearsal,” the university said.

All graduands, Student Governing Council members, Alumni representatives and all senate members will be required to be in official academic dress during the ceremony.
The academic gowns will be collected from the respective Deans of Schools offices between 16th November 2023 and 20th November 2023 upon clearance of the graduation fees.
According to the university, all gowns must be returned to the respective offices by 30th November 2023, “thereafter a daily penalty of Kshs1,000 will be charged”.
“Each graduand will be issued with two (2) invitation cards for two guests. These will be collected from the respective Dean’s of Schools offices.”
